Technical Training

Product Line Overview

(30 minutes) This course provides a general introduction to and familiarization with the DBS product line. The different models of drives and aerators are introduced as well as the applications in which they are used.

Electromechanical Primary Reducers

(60 minutes) This course describes the function of the electromechanical primary reducer and the different components that are used in the DBS design. Participants are given hands-on training with actual gearboxes used on DBS drives. Electromechanical variable speed options are also discussed.

Hydraulic Primary Reducers

(90 minutes) Participants are first given an introduction to the hydraulic principles used in the design of the DBS hydraulic primary reducers. The course then describes the function of the hydraulic primary reducer and the different components that are used in the DBS design. Participants are given hands-on training with the hydraulic components and their operation as they apply to DBS hydraulic reducers.

Torque Gauge Mechanism

(60 minutes) This course describes the purpose and general features of the DBS torque gauge mechanism. The operation of the torque gauge with respect to the different types of primary reducers is then explained. Hands-on training is also provided to familiarize the participants with its components and its operation.

Planetary Gearbox Familiarization

(30 minutes) This course describes the function of the planetary gearbox on DBS drives and looks at the features of this type of gearbox and the advantages it provides. Operation and maintenance issues are also discussed. Participants are also provided with hands-on experience disassembling and assembling a planetary gearbox.

Dual Drives

(30 minutes) This course introduces the DBS solution to applications where dual drives are required. The two major DBS designs are discussed as well as the applications for which they are used. Variable speed options are explained as well as the factors which need to be considered when deciding on using an electromechanical or hydraulic drive. Normal maintenance procedures are also discussed.

Lifters

(30 minutes) This course introduces the DBS solution to applications where drives equipped with lifting mechanisms are required. The two major DBS designs are discussed as well as the applications for which they are used. The components used in the DBS lift design are described and the lift operation is explained. The participants are taught basic lift operation control logic as well as normal maintenance procedures. Other lift models are also introduced.

Multiple Pinion Drives

(30 minutes) This course describes the operation of drives equipped with more than one pinion and the applications where they are used. Normal maintenance procedures are also discussed.

Maintenance, Lubrication, and CCU

(15 minutes) This course discusses the lubricants recommended by DBS for use in all components on a DBS drive. Lubrication and maintenance schedules for all DBS drives types are also explained. The condensation control unit (CCU) is introduced as well as the applications for which it is used.

Operation & Maintenance Manuals

(15 minutes) This course describes the production and distribution of the operation and maintenance (O&M) manuals provided with every drive unit. The organization of the contents and the information contained in the manuals is also explained.

Sales Training

Technical Sales

(90 minutes) This course describes in greater detail the features, advantages, and benefits of the DBS drive unit. The main selling points of the DBS drives are discussed and compared and contrasted to DBS competitors.

Aerators

(60 minutes) This course discusses in greater detail the DBS line of aeration products including the NSA and M-Series aerators. The background of the product line and an analysis of the aeration market is also presented.

Rotary Distributors

(15 minutes) This course describes in greater detail the DBS line of rotary distributors and provides some background information on this technology. The features, advantages, and benefits of the DBS design are also discussed.

Customer Service

(15 minutes) This course discusses the importance of customer service to DBS Manufacturing. All aspects of DBS's superior customer service program are discussed.

Retrofit Drive Units

(60 minutes) This course provides detailed information on the process of retrofitting competitor's drives. The two basic types of drives that are retrofitted are discussed as well as the procedures for taking accurate measurements of these drives. Helpful hints are also presented for making the measurement process easier. Participants are given hands-on experience in measuring an actual drive unit.

Hydraulic Upgrades

(15 minutes) This course introduces the line of hydraulic primary reducers that are available for upgrading competitor's drive units. The function of these units is discussed as well as the features, advantages, and benefits provided by these upgrades.

Installing Drive Units

(30 minutes) This course describes the installation services DBS Manufacturing provides. Installation planning considerations, instructions, and execution considerations are also discussed. The services provided with a DBS start-up are also explained.
