 Why retrofit?
- Repairing major drive unit failure is expensive. In many cases it costs about the same or more than the new equipment.
- The lead-time of getting an expensive replacement part may be longer than the lead-time for a new drive unit.
- The repaired unit does not carry any warranty while the new unit has 1-year general warranty and 10 year warranty on the main gear-bearing.
- The drive unit technology has changed over the last 20-30 years. The new DBS drive unit is not only ready to work with your most sophisticated new process control system, but will also solve many of your old headaches such as constant repairs, lubricating chain and sprockets and drain condensate.
- Retrofit is easy. No modification to bridge, center column and rake cage is required. To make it even easier, ask about our turn-key service.
How does it work?
- Contact a DBS engineer by e-mail at engineering@dbsmfg.com or call at 1-800-DBS-7010 to tell us what kind of equipment you seek to replace or the application of the equipment.
- Based on the information provided, the experienced DBS engineer will recommend a proper DBS model number and provide a quotation (the price of a new unit is less expensive than repairing an old unit in most cases), and all the necessary technical information.
- If you decide to purchase the equipment from us, we will custom make a machine or machines that will "bolt-in" your existing structure.
- As the equipment is ready, DBS can remove the old unit and install the new equipment with our optional turn-key service. The customer can also use independent contractor to install by following our informative O&M manual or engineering assistance over the phone.
